LeaseWeb, the largest host in Europe by bandwidth, announced today it has purchased Juniper Networks MX960 3D Universal Edge Router to handle the rapid rise in its internet traffic and provide additional scalability to its network. Juniper’s partner for this deployment is Infradata, a leading Dutch Network Integrator supplying, implementing and maintaining Next Generation Networks for service providers and network operators.
The new Juniper line cards and routers will process up to twice as much traffic as the competition – up to 2.6 terabits per second, while using half as much power per gigabit, which is an important concern for LeaseWeb. The Juniper MX 3D Universal Edge Router provides a solution that is not only technically advanced, but offers LeaseWeb enhanced financial benefits and increase network efficiency, allowing LeaseWeb to obtain maximum value from its network.
Con Zwinkels, Managing Director of LeaseWeb, noted: “LeaseWeb network volume continues to increase at a very rapid rate to meet customer requirements. Right now we are utilizing 700 Gigabits per second, with capacity needs well in excess of 1 Terabit per second soon. LeaseWeb required an extremely advanced core router to continue to keep pace with future customer demands. The MX960 is capable of handling up to 2.6 Terabits per second allowing the LeaseWeb network to grow efficiently well into the future. Infradata is a very experienced network integrator who are used to working in high performance and high demanding networking environments. With their service offering, Infradata provided the framework which was required for building this advanced network.”
Bastiaan Spandaw, LeaseWeb network architect noted the Juniper MX960 allowed LeaseWeb to diversify its network infrastructure, offering a very high density solution, while providing a range of services for multi-point connectivity. Spandaw pointed out: “We selected the Juniper MX960 to meet the increasing demands of customers for higher amounts of bandwidth, services, and most importantly extreme reliability. The Juniper MX960 provides LeaseWeb with superb flexibility and scalability in a high performance platform, including support for the new 100Gbps Ethernet standard in the future, which is very important for us, as LeaseWeb’s data traffic continues to grow rapidly. LeaseWeb looks forward to working with Juniper in the future to meet its cutting edge global networking requirements. With network integrator Infradata, we are assured of a seamless transition to the new network structure.”
Leon de Keijzer, Managing Director of Infradata, noted: “We are proud Leaseweb has chosen Infradata as network integrator to restructure the hosting network. With the new Juniper Networks router, LeaseWeb has created an infrastructure that will facilitate rapid future growth in an extremely efficient way. Our effective collaboration with Juniper, the excellent performance of the Juniper products and our extensive service offering were decisive for Leaseweb in selecting Infradata.”
