Leiden, 5 September 2011 – Eurofiber and network integrator Infradata have entered into an intensive, five-year cooperation agreement. Infradata will take on delivery, installation, configuration, implementation and support for the backbone infrastructure extension based on solutions by Juniper Networks.

The demand for bandwidth has increased dramatically due to the continuously increasing data traffic in fixed and mobile networks. The powerful Juniper Networks MX960 core routers that will be used in the Eurofiber network will ensure that the flexibility, scalability and reliability required for growth will continue to be offered in the future.

Demand for bandwidth constantly increasing
“In order to anticipate the needs of our growing customer base and the increasing demand for bandwidth, we continuously invest in the capacity and quality of our Ethernet backbone. Through an adapted, robust design we are building additional flexibility and scalability,” says Bart Oskam, General Director of Eurofiber. “We opted for Juniper equipment because this is a proven platform with an impressive track record in the area of carrier-grade Ethernet. We found synergy in the cooperation via network integrator Infradata. They not only supply and install the equipment but also offer us support for five years.”

Leon de Keijzer, Managing Director of Infradata: “The agreement with Eurofiber is a fantastic “win” for Infradata. This has allowed us to take a major stride forward into the fiber-optics market. The expansion of its infrastructure will allow Eurofiber to develop quickly in the coming years and respond to the continually growing demand for more bandwidth."
