The demand for chipsets has grown enormously on a global scale. This has led to backlogs and significant delays in delivery times (weeks to sometimes months) for many of our technology partners. We do not expect demand to fall in the short term. On the contrary, it will likely continue to rise.
Chip delivery times per vendor
The delay in delivery time differs per vendor and often per product. This makes it difficult to predict the exact delivery time. Everyone is working hard to meet the increasing demand, but the usual delivery times can no longer be guaranteed. We notice that the delivery times of hardware are increasing across the board. We expect this to last at least until the end of 2021 at the earliest.
What is the cause of the delay?
The growth in demand for chips is driven by a surge in the number of 5G devices and other communications infrastructure equipment. This has repercussions for various vendors we work with.
